      Mutant animals die at 29oC and lay flaccid egs at 25oC. Casts28/Df(2L)H20 animals exhibit specific cell fate transformations in mechano-sensory organs. 92% of macrochaetae and microchaetae show a transformation of shaft cells to sockets cells. Triple sockets and quadruple sockets are also seen caused by transformations of the sheath cell and eo neuron to the tormogen fate.
