      Mutant mushroom body neuroblast clones generated in newly hatched larvae and examined in the wandering third instar are severely reduced in size compared to control clones. Distribution of a membrane marker in mushroom body neurons in the clones is abnormal; it is concentrated in the cell bodies and is distributed very weakly in axons and dendrites.
