Rescue fragment composed of genomic and cDNA sequences that contains Poxn upstream sequences and Poxn 5' leader, coding and 3' trailer sequences. Sequences from downstream of Poxn are also present in the transgene.

      Comments

      The defects in taste bristles on the leg, labellum and anterior wing margin seen in PoxnΔM22-B5 flies are not rescued by PoxnE77. The defects in the posterior lobe seen in PoxnΔM22-B5 males are partially rescued by PoxnE77. The defects in penis structure and male fertility are not rescued. The leg and antenna segmentation defects seen in PoxnΔM22-B5 flies are not rescued by PoxnE77. PoxnE77 does rescues the flying capability of PoxnΔM22-B5 flies. PoxnE77 partially rescues the courting defects of PoxnΔM22-B5 males; the fraction of males which court under daylight conditions is increased.
