      Two pro-oocytes are visible in 52.9% of region 3 cysts in homozygous females (as assayed by c(3)G staining) compared to a frequency of 9.5% in wild type.

      mei-912/mei-9A2 females show 23% X chromosome nondisjunction, compared to 0.33% in wild-type females. mei-9RT1/mei-912 females show a severe decrease in the level of crossing over along the left arm of chromosome 2 compared to wild type. mei-912/mei-9A2 larvae are not hypersensitive to ultraviolet light or nitrogen mustard.
