      Heat-shock in specific areas of the trachea in stage 13 bnlhs.PS mutant embryos results in a number of ectopic terminal branch migration phenotypes, including attraction, bifurcation, delay or inhibition.

      Inducing bnl expression in bnlhs.PS animals by heat-shock results in hypertrophy of the dorsal air sac primordia.

      Within 5 hours of a brief heat shock to bnlhs.PS larvae there is a large increase in the number of filopodia formed by air sac tracheoblasts of the wing discs. Unlike in wild-type these filopodia extend randomly in all directions.
