      Weak allele. Embryos that lack maternal RpII140 function (derived from females carrying homozygous germ line clones) show fusions of mid-abdominal segments and have a short head skeleton and Filzkorper. Embryos that lack both maternal and zygotic RpII140 function (derived from females carrying homozygous germ line clones mated to mutant males) are short and have a severe segmentation defect.
