FlyBase curator comment: this entry is used to capture phenotypic information when the particular allele (or allele combination) used by the author could not be determined but the context of the experiment suggests that the phenotype being described is some kind of loss of function.
Mutant flies have the same weight as control flies. Analysis of wing size and wing hair density indicates no difference in cell size and cell number in mutant and wild-type flies. Homozygous clones in larval imaginal discs are the same size as their wild-type sister clones. Clones in the adult eye show no increase in cell size in the mutant ommatidia.
