      pyx2 flies prefer mean temperatures of 27.50C, while wild-type flies prefer 25.30C. pyx2 flies have no visible morphological or locomotive defects. More than 45% of pyx2 mutant flies are paralyzed within 3 minutes of being placed on an aluminum block of 400C, whereas only 9% of wild-type flies are paralyzed under these conditions.
