      pyx1 flies prefer mean temperatures of 26.80C, while wild-type flies prefer 25.30C. pyx1 flies have no visible morphological or locomotive defects. Significantly more pyx1 mutants are paralyzed within 3 minutes of being placed on an aluminum block of 400C than wild-type flies.
