      Expression of DlA581S.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, results in duplication of bristles and melting and smoothing of lens material. There are also extra photoreceptors and extra interommatidial pigment cells. Flies expressing DlA581S.Scer\UAS, under the control of either Scer\GAL4vg.int2.1 or Scer\GAL4A9, have rudimentary wings.
