Homozygous and sosiec03947/Df(3R)Exel6200 females show defects in egg chamber formation, having compound egg chambers containing more than the normal 16 germ cells and more than one oocyte. The compound egg chambers appear to arise due to defective egg chamber packaging and not due to additional divisions of the germ cells: the two oocytes are separated from each other and they contain the normal number of four ring canals.
