Detailed Description

Ectopic expression of Or22aScer\UAS.cLb under the control of Scer\GAL4Or67d.PF in olfactory sensory neurons that normally express Or67b confers a response to a panel of known Or22a ligands (ethyl butyrate, methyl butyrate, pentyl acetate, methyl hexanoate and methyl octanoate) in addition to the endogenous response of these neurons to cis-vaccenyl acetate (cVA), but not to a control odour, geranyl acetate.

Olfactory sensory neurons expressing Or22aScer\UAS.cLb under the control of Scer\GAL4Or67d.PF still show the ectopic responses to a panel of known Or22a ligands (ethyl butyrate, methyl butyrate, pentyl acetate, methyl hexanoate and methyl octanoate) in a Snmp1/Snmp2 background, but the endogenous response of these neurons to cis-vaccenyl acetate is lost in the Snmp1/Snmp2 background.
