      Ectopic expression of UbxIa.Δ234-251.Scer\UAS.hs.T:Ivir\HA1, under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PS results in severe defects in limb repression, with only 65% of larval limbs repressed. Even when expressed at 170% of the endogenous concentration, this mutant protein does not completely repress limbs (83% repression). A double mutant, expressing UbxIa.Δ20-61.Scer\UAS.hs.T:Ivir\HA1 and UbxIa.Δ234-251.Scer\UAS.hs.T:Ivir\HA1, under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PS, exhibits an additive effect in limb repression capacity, repressing about 50% of larval limbs.
