Description

UAS sequences drive expression of ftz, tagged with Tag:MYC at the N-terminus. The ftz sequence corresponds to ftz cDNA with no 5' UTR and with an extra 4 amino acids (MRDP) between the second and third amino acids of the original sequence.

      Expression of ftzScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC, under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PS, causes segmentation defects in the embryo. The T1 segment merges with T2, and T3 becomes partially fused with A1. Head morphology is normal and there are no visible homeotic transformations. Expression of ftzNTS.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4Dll-md23, causes deletion of the arista and truncation of the antennal 3 segment.
