      Expression of ftzLRAAA.Scer\UAS in developing imaginal discs under the control of Scer\GAL4Dll-md23 results in antennae with normal A1 and A2 segments, but a malformed A3 segment with extra bristles and a truncated arista.

      Expression of ftzLRAAA.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PS, has no effect on cuticle formation of the embryo. Expression of ftzLRAAA.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4Dll-md23, causes a subtle homeotic antenna-to-leg transformation; the antennal 3 segment is malformed, has leg-like ectopic bristles with bracts, and has no arista.
