Description

Imprecise excision of the P{SUPor-P}KG08729 element, resulting in a 2400bp deletion that covers part of the transcription units of the pad and SF2 genes. This removes the 5' untranslated region, exon 1, 2 and part of exon 3 of pad, and the 5' untranslated region and exons 1 and 2 of SF2.

      pad3 flies have ectopic bristles on the notum. The density of notal microchaetes is also higher than wild type. Additionally, these flies have twisted legs.
