Expression of ftzYPWM.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PS, causes a slight head involution defect and a segmentation defect, in which some of the segments are missing. However, thoracic segments develop normally and there is no visible homeotic phenotype. Expression of ftzYPWM.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4Dll-md23, causes weak antennal-to-leg transformations. The arista and the antennal 3 segment are transformed into the two distal-most tarsal segments. There is no claw, but the sensory pad associated with the claw can be seen.
