Expression of one copy of the fz^57.αTub84B transgene partially rescues the cuticle phenotype of fz^GL31, fz2^e2 embryos. However, denticles are present in regions that should be entirely naked and some denticle belts are fused. The mutant lethality is not rescued. fz^GL31, fz2^e2 clones in the wing that are rescued by fz^{ΔCRD1.αTub84B} have ectopic margin bristles, but these appear to be derived from neighbouring cells as the bristles are dark, while the clones lack y.
