      Expression of Tcas\ftzFNWS.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PS, does not affect cuticle formation in the embryo. Expression of Tcas\ftzFNWS.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4Dll-md23, causes the homeotic transformation of the arista into tarsal segments 3-5. Antennal segment 3 shows leg-like ectopic bristles with bracts.
