Description

UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of knk in which the predicted GPI anchor has been replaced with the transmembrane portion of Tsf2 (Tsf2 sequence that could code for the predicted recognition domains required for GPI-modification are not included).

Expression of knk::Tsf2TM.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4tub suppresses both the knkunspecified lethality and the tracheal and cuticle defects.

knk::Tsf2TM.Scer\UAS expression, under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS in Fas2EB112 or pckG0012 mutant tracheal epithelia is unable to restore their chitin-filament structure and tube size defects.

Expression of knk::Tsf2TM.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PK suppresses both the knkunspecified lethality and the tracheal and cuticle defects. knk::Tsf2TM.Scer\UAS expression, under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS in Fas2EB112 or pckG0012 mutant tracheal epithelia is unable to restore their chitin-filament structure and tube size defects.
