Imprecise excision of the P{EP}wun2EP2650 insertion, resulting in a 2.75kb deletion that removes the first 11 amino acids of wun2 coding sequence. The deletion also removes the first, non-coding, exon of one of the two isoforms of wun.
Embryos derived from wunEMS9/wunEP2650ex34 or wunEMS23/wunEP2650ex34 females mated to wild-type males have wild-type germ cell numbers at late stages.
