Fertility of Acp29ABW1/Df(2L)ED611 animals is normal.

Two hours after the start of mating (ASM) there is no difference between mates of Acp29ABW1/Df(2L)ED611 and control males in sperm stored in either the spermathecae or the seminal receptacle. By contrast, by 4 days ASM, there is a significant reduction in the number of sperm stored in the sperm storage organs of mates of Acp29ABW1/Df(2L)ED611 males compared to mates of control males.

The proportion of offspring sired by a male when he is the first of two males to mate (P1) is lower for Acp29ABW1/Df(2L)ED611 males than for their control siblings. The proportion of offspring sired by a male when he is the second of two males to mate (P2) is not altered for Acp29ABW1/Df(2L)ED611 males compared to control males.

Mates of Acp29ABW1/Df(2L)ED611 males show no difference in remating propensity compared to controls at 1 or 4 days postmating. Mates of Acp29ABW1/Df(2L)ED611 males show no difference in total eggs laid, total progeny or egg-to-adult survivorship over 10 days when compared to mates of control males.
