lethal, with Scer\GAL4T80
Males expressing BaldspotdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cJa under the control of Scer\GAL4PpY-55A.PJ at 29[o]C often have smaller testes than normal, and the testes contain fewer germ cells or cysts than wild type. The number of individualisation cones (ICs) is drastically reduced. Those ICs that form frequently appear dispersed and have an abnormal overall morphology. Many elongated spermatid nuclei are seen scattered around the massively enlarged region of the terminal epithelium. No individualised sperm can be seen in the seminal vesicles.
