Animals expressing Dcr-1^{dsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ} under the control of Scer\GAL4^how-24B can develop to the third larval instar stage.

The excitatory junction currents (EJCs) at the neuromuscular junction are slightly, but not significantly, larger than those of controls in larvae expressing Dcr-1^{dsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ} under the control of Scer\GAL4^how-24B. The frequency of spontaneous EJCs is not significantly altered in larvae expressing Dcr-1^{dsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ} under the control of Scer\GAL4^how-24B, but there is a small but significant increase in spontaneous EJC amplitude.
