UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
larva, with Scer\GAL469B
wing, with Scer\GAL4vg.PU
Ready-to-hatch larvae expressing snuKK104096 under the control of Scer\GAL469B (together with Dicer-2, for an efficient RNAi) are flaccid, have an abnormal transparent appearance, their head skeleton is paler and their tracheal system is not filled with gas; most of these fail to hatch; larvae manually freed from the egg case are unable to maintain the body shape, flatten and dry out.
Adults expressing snuKK104096 under the control of Scer\GAL4vg.PU show wing cuticle defects, as illustrated by the permeability to Eosin Y, as compared to controls.
