UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
84% of the wings from flies expressing Irk2KK105936 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 show wing defects; 73% of the wings have vein defects, 9% fail to expand correctly and 4% have tissue necrosis. Wing expansion defects are also seen.
Expression of Irk2KK105936 in the wing under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 causes a reduction in wing size, wing vein defects and hinge defects that result in the held-out wing phenotype for all surviving flies. No wing expansion defects are seen. Male flies exhibit stronger phenotypes than female flies.
The amount of apoptosis seen in wing discs expressing Irk2KK105936 under the control of either Scer\GAL4da.G32 or Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 is similar to wild type.
