Expression of Aldh-IIIKK109404 under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL in animals raised on a 20% yeast, 15% sucrose diet results in a prominent developmental delay. Hemolymph glucose levels are not significantly affected in the mutant larvae. These animals show impaired survival compared to controls when raised on a 20% sucrose-only diet.
