UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
larva, with Scer\GAL469B
Ready-to-hatch larvae expressing snslKK110100 under the combined control of Scer\GAL469B and Dicer-2 (for an efficient RNAi) or under the combined control of Scer\GAL4da.PU and Scer\GAL4VP16.mat.αTub67C are flaccid, have an abnormal transparent appearance, their head skeleton is paler and their tracheal system is not filled with gas; larvae expressing snslKK110100 under the combined control of Scer\GAL469B and Dicer-2 die 10min after hatching due to desiccation (which can be rescued if larvae are reared in halocarbon oil).
Adults expressing snslKK110100 under the control of Scer\GAL4vg.PU do not show any obvious cuticle permeability defects, as compared to controls.
Larvae expressing snslKK110100 under the control of Scer\GAL4unspecified die 10min after hatching due to desiccation (which can be rescued if larvae are reared in halocarbon oil).
