UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expression of thsKK111662 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 results in a decrease in the number of ensheathing glial cells and overall reduction of their processes in the developing antennal lobes during late pupal stages. Same but milder phenotype is observed also with the Scer\GAL4orb-0449-G4 driver, whereas expressing thsKK111662 under Scer\GAL4GH146 does not cause any significant defects in glia wrapping.
Knocking-down ths with Scer\GAL4elav-C155 does not interfere with the ability of axons from the olfactory receptor neurons neurons Or88a and Or47b innervating the VA1v and VA1d glomeruli to reach their target area in the ventrolateral antennal lobe but they fail to establish exclusive territories for their axonal arborizations and their axonal terminals partially overlap.
