RhoGAP18B4 mutants exhibit resistance to ethanol-induced sedation measured with either a locomotor tracking system or a loss-of-righting (LOR) test. Ethanol absorption is normal in RhoGAP18B4 flies, which also perform normally in various behavioural assays, including those measuring sensitivity to CO[[2]]-induced sedation, nicotine toxicity, spontaneous locomotion, circadian rhythms, and negative geotaxis. RhoGAP18B4 flies also show increased resistance to the acute effects of nicotine and cocaine.
