      Expression of RhoGAP18BRA.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4whir3 in RhoGAP18B3 males results in a significantly reduced viability compared to RhoGAP18B3 males (17% compared to 31%). In addition, many RhoGAP18B3-expressing escapers die early in adult life.

      Male flies expressing RhoGAP18BRA.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4whir3 in a RhoGAP18B3 background expressing Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B, that are raised at 16[o]C and then shifted to 29[o]C for 3 days (to allow RhoGAP18BRA.Scer\UAS expression) are resistant to the sedating effects of ethanol.

      Adult overexpression of RhoGAP18BRA.Scer\UAS in wild-type flies (Scer\GAL4whir3/+, Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B; Avic\GFPScer\UAS) causes a significant increase in ethanol-induced hyperactivity, compared to wild-type.
