Imprecise excision of the progenitor insertion. Approximately 9kb of the original insertion remains.
Mutant first instar larvae show air filling defects in the tracheal tubules.
Hph1 simaKG07607 double homozygotes are indistinguishable from controls, both in terms of pupal weight and the duration of larval development. Under normoxia conditions, the double homozygotes can survive to adulthood, although 76% of the animals fail to eclose from the pupal case, and those that do emerge look weak and frequently die shortly after eclosion.
Hph1 is rescued by HphB.UAS/Scer\GAL4hs.PB
Hph1 is rescued by Scer\GAL4btl.PS/HphB.UAS
Hph1 is partially rescued by HphA.UAS/Scer\GAL4hs.PB
Hph1 is partially rescued by Scer\GAL4btl.PS/HphA.UAS
Expression of HphA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB using 30 minute heat shocks once a day partially rescues the lethality of Hph1 mutants, as individuals reach the pupal stage but fail to develop into viable adults.
Expression of HphB.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB using 30 minute heat shocks once a day fully rescues the lethality of Hph1 mutants.
Expression of HphA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS partially rescues the air filling defects seen in Hph1 larval tracheal tubules.
Expression of HphB.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS almost completely rescues the air filling defects seen in Hph1 larval tracheal tubules.
