Ubiquitous expression of CTCFScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP in a wild-type background with the drivers Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL or Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI results in early embryonic lethality.
A single heat shock (37[o]C) for 20 mins at 24, 48, or 72 hours into development is sufficient to phenotypically rescue the majority of flies with a CTCFP30.6/Df(3L)0463 or CTCFGE24185/Df(3L)0463 background when CTCFScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP and Scer\GAL4hs.PB are present. Both sexes are fertile. A few flies exhibit a very mild held-out wing phenotype and some have a disorganized bristle pattern on the dorsal abdomen. Heat shock at the pupal stage could not rescue all the mutant phenotypes.
