16% of clones expressing Cad86CScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP in the eye disc have an unusual shape; they are highly elongated compared to control clones. Cells in these elongated clones are shorter along their apicobasal axis, are apically constricted and are part of an epithelial fold (the fold also contains neighbouring wild-type cells).
17% of clones expressing Cad86CScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP in the wing disc have a highly elongated shape. The cells in these elongated clones are shorter along their apicobasal axis compared to neighbouring wild-type cells, are apically constricted and are part of an epithelial fold.
The apicobasal length of control cells and of cells expressing Cad86CScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 in the centre of the dorsal compartment of the wing disc is indistinguishable. However, at the dorsal-ventral compartment boundary (Scer\GAL4ap-md544 is expressed in the dorsal compartment), both central control cells and dorsal cells expressing Cad86CScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 sometimes have a highly decreased cell length and are part of an epithelial fold.
Expression of Cad86CScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP in smo3 tkv4 double homozygous clones in the region of the morphogenetic furrow can result in the formation of an epithelial invagination in some cases. Cells at the centre of this invagination are shorter along their apicobasal axis compared to smo3 tkv4 double homozygous clones or to wild-type cells within the morphogenetic furrow.
