UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Third instar larvae expressing Nrx-1JF02652 under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL do not display any neuromuscular junction (NMJ) morphology defects: the total bouton area, number of boutons as well as number of branch points per NMJ is comparable to wild-type.
Flies expressing Nrx-1JF02652 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.Switch.PO or Scer\GAL4Mef2.247.Switch (and feeding with RU486 to induce expression via the GeneSwitch system) do not exhibit defective learning in an aversive conditioning assay, but do exhibit defects in a reversal-learning paradigm, with a third-odor preference assay showing an inability to forget the first aversive odor association after training with a second aversive odor, as compared to controls.
Nrx-1JF02652, Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL is a suppressor of NMJ bouton phenotype of Hsap\DISC1UAS.Tag:HA, Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL
The reduced total neuromuscular junction (NMJ) bouton area in third instar larvae expressing Hsap\DISC1Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL is rescued by co-expression of Nrx-1JF02652 but this also results in significant decrease in the number of branch points per NMJ, which is not observed in either of the single mutants alone. Number of boutons per NMJ remains comparable to wild-type.
