        in females par-1 is expressed predominantly in spectrosomes and in the fusomes of growing cysts. It is sharply downregulated in 16-cell cysts and can no longer be detected in fusomes after germarium region 2a. In male cysts, it is expressed in early fusomes but not late fusomes.
