Expressing Lmx1a^JF02194 under the control of Scer\GAL4^GMR42B09 induces a near-complete loss of ovariole material/ovaries and females do not lay any eggs. Scer\GAL4^bab1-Agal4-5- or Scer\GAL4^GMR35G09-driven expressions induce mild ovary defects but Scer\GAL4^GMR35G09 females lay a similar number of eggs as controls. Scer\GAL4^GMR79G07-driven expression does not induce any obvious ovary defect.

Adult flies expressing Lmx1a^JF02194 under the control of Scer\GAL4^Dot.PK display nephrocyte functional defects (measured by uptake assays) and reduced adult lifespan relative to controls.
