      Ectopic expression of Stat92EY704F.Scer\UAS in the eye disc from first instar larval stage under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU (induced through heat-shock treatment of first instar larvae to inactivate Scer\GAL80αTub84B.PL) does not effect the high frequency of apoptosis observed in cells of the first mitotic wave when subjected to x-ray irradiation.
