      Targeted knockdown of Npc1a through expression of Npc1adsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 results in age-progressive neurodegeneration. At day 40, Npc1adsRNA.Scer\UAS animals show a more than threefold increase in vacuolization relative to age-matched controls.
