The expression of Drice^HMS00398 under the control of Scer\GAL4^ap-md544 leads to malformed and curled wings, which indicates growth inhibition defects during development. Upon additional Dicer-2 expression, the wings become wrinkled.

Expression of Drice^HMS00398 under the control of Scer\GAL4^elav-C155 results in no change in optic lobe apoptotic cell number at 24h APF, but an increase of apoptotic cells at 48h APF. Expression of Drice^HMS00398 under the control of Scer\GAL4^repo-M1B results in no change in optic lobe apoptotic cell number at either 24h APF or 48h APF.
