      Expression of Cyp18a1dsRNA.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4tub.PU results in limited mortality at third larval instar and high level of lethality at the pupal stage. Development is delayed about days at third larval instar. Some larvae display melanotic masses.

      Expression of Cyp18a1dsRNA.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4Cyp6g1.HR in the midgut, Malpighian tubules and fat body results in no obvious abnormalities.

      Expression of Cyp18a1dsRNA.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4phm.PG in the steroidogenic cells of the ring gland induces third instar developmental delays and lethality at third instar larval and pupal stages along with melanotic masses associated with the midgut and cuticle in many third instar larvae.
