UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of Ir84a lacking the C-terminal cytoplasmic tail. The endogenous signal sequence of Ir84a is replaced with Tag:SS(hCALR) and fused to EGFP.
Neurons co-expressing Ir84aΔC.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\CALR,T:Avic\GFP-EGFP and Ir8aScer\UAS.cAa under the control of Scer\GAL4Or22a.7.717 respond to phenylacetaldehyde in a concentration-dependent manner.
