Imprecise excision of P{}ImpL2GE24013 resulting in the deletion of the entire ImpL2 coding sequence.
viable (with ImpL2Def20)
ovary (with ImpL2Def20)
ImpL2Def42 pupae exhibit increased body size in hypoxia (10% O[[2]]), but no body size changes in normoxia,(21% O[[2]]), compared to controls.
The body size of ImpL2Def20/ImpL2Def42 mutants is increased relative to wild-type flies. The size increase is attributable primarily to an increase in the number of cells, because cell size is only slightly affected. Apart from the size and weight increase, ImpL2Def20/ImpL2Def42 flies appear completely normal and eclose at the expected frequency and are not delayed in development. The weight increase is more pronounced in ImpL2Def20/ImpL2Def42 females than in males, although the increases in wing area and cell number are similar. This differential effect is caused by enlarged ovaries.
Survival of ImpL2Def20/ImpL2Def42 early third instar larvae is severely compromised under starvation conditions.
ImpL2Def20/ImpL2Def42 has viable phenotype, suppressible by Scer\GAL4arm.PS/Ilp2UAS.cBa
ImpL2[+]/ImpL2Def42 is an enhancer of increased body size phenotype of Ilp2UAS.cBa, Scer\GAL4arm.PS
The increased body weight phenotype resulting from the overexpression of Ilp2Scer\UAS.cBa via Scer\GAL4arm.PS is dominantly enhanced by ImpL2Def42.
Overexpression of Ilp2Scer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PS causes lethality in ImpL2Def42/ImpL2Def20 mutants.
ImpL2Def20/ImpL2Def42 is rescued by ImpL2+t9
ImpL2+t9 rescues the increased weight phenotype of ImpL2Def20/ImpL2Def42 mutants.
