Expression of HLH106^{dsRNA.Scer\UAS} under the control of Scer\GAL4^da.G32 results in a dose-dependent developmental delay and lethality during larval and pupal stages. Surviving adults show a significant reduction in body size, body weight and wing area compared to controls.

Expression of HLH106^{dsRNA.Scer\UAS} under the control of Scer\GAL4^Bx-MS1096 results in a significant reduction in wing area compared to controls.

Expression of HLH106^{dsRNA.Scer\UAS} under the control of Scer\GAL4^en-e16E results in a significant reduction in the area of the posterior compartment of the wing accompanied by an increase in density of wing epithelial cells compared to control anterior compartment cells.
