klarMW contains a deletion of a contiguous 25bp stretch in the middle of exon 15ext, which encodes the 'lipid droplet' (LD) domain. This 25bp deletion shifts the open reading frame and should result in a truncated LD domain, with the C-terminal 64 residues being replaced by an unrelated five amino acid sequence.
A 25 bp deletion in klar which leads to a frameshift and early translation termination after 5 novel amino acids are added. The deletion occurs after the amino acid sequence QMVHMV and the novel amino acids ASWHG are added before the stop.
