UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
Expression of Pka-C1GL00038 under the control of Scer\GAL4tey-5053A (in combination with a Dicer-2 transgene to enhance RNAi efficiency) leads to suppressed growth response of motoneuron axons after nerve crush injury, as compared to wild type.
Females heterozygous for Pka-C1GL00038 and MTD-Gal4 (consists of Scer\GAL4otu.T:Hsim\VP16, Scer\GAL4nos.PG and Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16) crossed to Pka-C1GL00038 males results in: 3% hatching; egg/embryonic phenotype: all eggs white and empty; tiny eggs; maternal effect.
Flies expressing Pka-C1GL00038 under the control of Scer\GAL4tim.PE (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase RNAi efficiency) are completely arrhythmic for locomotor activity under constant darkness conditions.
