Females heterozygous for Sdr^GL00178 and MTD-Gal4 (consists of Scer\GAL4^{otu.T:Hsim\VP16}, Scer\GAL4^nos.PG and Scer\GAL4^{nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16}) crossed to Sdr^GL00178 males results in: 100% hatching; non-maternal effect.

Expression of Sdr^GL00178 under the control of Scer\GAL4^tub.PU results in larvae and adults that are larger than normal. Adult wing area is significantly increased compared to wild type.

Expression of Sdr^GL00178 under the control of either Scer\GAL4^tub.PU or Scer\GAL80^repo.PL results in adults with an increased body weight compared to controls.

Expression of Sdr^GL00178 under the control of either Scer\GAL4^Mef2.PR, Scer\GAL4^C855a, Scer\GAL4^elav.PU, Scer\GAL4^Ilp2.PR or Scer\GAL4^Cg.PA has no effect on adult body weight.

Expression of Sdr^GL00178 under the control of Scer\GAL4^Sdr.3.5 results in adults with an increased body weight compared to controls. This increase is partially suppressed by co-expression of Scer\GAL80^repo.PL.
