      Expression of HodsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of the Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI driver at 28[o]C results in lethality at the larval and pupal stages.

      Expression of HodsRNA.Scer\UAS in the eye disc using the Scer\GAL4GMR.PS driver results in adult eyes with abnormal morphology and a rough appearance when flies are raised at 25[o]C. At 28[o]C a large proportion of flies die at the pupal stages, although the severity of the phenotype varies across different lines. Adult flies exhibit an eyeless phenotype.

      Ectopic apoptosis (assayed through activated caspase-3 expression) is observed in imaginal eye discs expressing HodsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of the Scer\GAL4GMR.PS driver.
