Animals expressing PGRP-LB500.dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 at 29[o]C show significant lethality. Adult escapers raised at 25[o]C are viable and show no visible difference to wild-type flies.
Animals expressing PGRP-LB500.dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 exhibit reduced digestion of a "["[14]C"]"DAP-radio-labelled TCT dimer in both unchallenged and bacteria-challenged flies, indicating a significant decrease in hemolymph amidase activity.
Inactivation of PGRP-LB through expression of PGRP-LB500.dsRNA.Scer\UAS (under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32) does not induce increased susceptibility to infection, as determined from fly survival rates following injection of E.carotovora.
