Expression of endsRNA.Scer\UAS in the entire wing under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 results in the absence of the anterior (ACV) and posterior (PCV) crossveins.

Expressing endsRNA.Scer\UAS in the P-compartment using Scer\GAL4hh-Gal4 or under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 has no effect on ACV formation. Expression in the Ptc/En cells under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 results in loss of ACVs in 88% of wings. Expression of endsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E leads to loss of the ACV in 100% of wings examined.
